Selling with Cultural Competence (April Powers)
How many of your team members are selling to customers or working with others who are from different cultural backgrounds? Are you? Are you puzzled when a solid "yes" ended up without a sale? Do you think that lost sales are only because of language barriers"?" What if you didn't have to be fluent in every language or culture in order to be successful servicing those customers? The first step is to not offend your customers when you walk in the door.

This training class by April Powers will teach you this and more:
 • Identify things you need to do when selling to customers from different backgrounds to raise average sales and increase referrals.
 • Learn ways to adjust your selling technique from greetings at the door to closing the sale in order to adapt to cultural (and sometimes religious) differences. As a result, people will trust you more and you will have more sales.
 • Learn what behaviors to avoid, even when you are not sure what their culture is.
 • Learn how your unconscious bias, emotional intelligence and personal cultural values can influence your ability to increase your cultural competence and improve your sales numbers.

Carrier Ductless Split Systems (Josh Vasquez)
With ductless split systems gaining in popularity and performance, is your installation team using best practices to install a system that won’t result in any call backs? In this new course, we will discuss the installation and start-up procedures for Carrier’s line of 1:1 and multi-zone ductless split systems. With proper installation techniques, your systems will start-up and run beautifully. FAD Credit = 3 hours.

We will walk through an installation step-by-step, including:
 • Touch and feel the products and tools to use
 • Explain why certain things need to be done and the potential consequences of short-cutting the process
 • Show where to connect the wires and which ports to use
 • Explain how to find the right adapter in the box
 • Disucss effective locations for the indoor units
 • Demonstrate how to use the hand-held remote, including the Follow Me feature

Furnace Installation & Start Up (Greg Sanchez)
Ever have a call-back because someone forgot to read the fine print on the 62nd page of a 105 page installation manual? If the answer is “yes”, then this might be the class for some of your crew. The plan is to go over the ‘critical steps’ associated with the installation and start-up of the current 80% and 90% furnaces. The class is intended for students new to the game of HVAC. FAD Credit = 3 hours, NATE CEU = 2 hours.

The cost of "Selling with Cultural Competence" is $360 per student. Changes to this registration after October 1 cannot be accepted and the full amount will be charged for students who register and do not attend the class. All other classes for non-dealers are $25 per student. Changes to this registration with less than 24 hour notice cannot be accepted and the full amount will be charged for students who register and do not attend the class. All other classes for 2017 Dealers are complementary, but a no-show fee of $25 per student will be charged if a student is registered but does not attend the class.
